This is a page for folks who’d like to try my work, but aren’t sure where to begin. This sampler changes as new material comes out, but it contains no more than 6 pieces at any given time.
Birdverse Novelette: Grandmother-nai-Leylit’s Cloth of Winds. Queer and trans family members, generations, autism, very many carpets. Bonus notes! [Nebula Award nominee; Tiptree Award longlist]
Flash length Story: Seven Losses of Na Re. Permafrost, Yiddish, Soviet Jews. [Reprinted in Ann and Jeff VanderMeer’s Sisters of the Revolution: A Feminist Speculative Fiction Anthology].
Unclassifiable: Bone Shadows. All kinds of things wash up at the Lost and Found of days.
Science Fiction poem: Archival Testimony Fragments/Minersong. A poem from the Boundless universe. Bonus podcast of this poem by C.S.E. Cooney is amazing (starts at 27:40). [Locus recommended Reading List, Rhysling award nominee.]
Epic Fantasy poem: Long Shadow. A Journeymaker Cycle poem about a ghostly child, and the struggle to find a solution to past wars. [Rhysling award nominee, 2nd place in Strange Horizons Readers’ poll.]
Enjoyed browsing the work, especially Bone Shadows, which you say is ‘unclassifiable’ but which struck me as very dramatic and probably would work great as a spoken word performance piece.
