R.B. Lemberg is a queer, bigender immigrant from Ukraine to the US. R.B. is an author of five books of speculative fiction and poetry, a translator from Ukrainian and Russian, and an academic. R.B.’s books of fantasy have been shortlisted for the Nebula, Locus, Ignyte, World Fantasy Award, the Le Guin Award for Fiction, and other awards. Many of R.B.’s stories and poems are set in Birdverse, an LGBTQIA+-focused secondary world. Their Birdverse books are The Four Profound Weaves (2020), The Unbalancing (2022), Geometries of Belonging (2022), and the forthcoming novella Yoke of Stars (2024). In their academic life, R.B. is a sociolinguist working on immigrant discourse, identity, and gender. R.B.’s books of fantasy have been shortlisted for the Nebula, Locus, Ignyte, World Fantasy Award, the Le Guin Award for Fiction, and other awards. Their stories and poems have appeared in Lightspeed‘s Queers Destroy Science Fiction, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Strange Horizons, Fantasy and Science Fiction, Sisters of the Revolution: A Feminist Speculative Fiction Anthology, People of the Book: A Decade of Jewish Science Fiction and Fantasy, and more. Many of R.B.’s stories and poems are set in Birdverse, an LGBTQIA+-focused secondary world. Their Birdverse books are The Four Profound Weaves (2020), The Unbalancing (2022), Geometries of Belonging (2022), and the forthcoming novella Yoke of Stars (2024).
